Dustin Zonnenberg, CPA, CD
Sun Mountain Accounting was founded in 2025 on Sumas Mountain, where the sun rises over the Canadian Cascades. The name, a translation of the Dutch ‘Zonnenberg,’ was a natural fit—reflecting our mission to bring clarity and a new dawn to your financial landscape.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a diverse background across Canada, Dustin’s commitment to service was forged over an 18-year career with the Army Reserve, which included a deployment with the PPCLI in 2007. This experience instilled in him the values of discipline, integrity, and a mission-focused approach—qualities he now brings to every client engagement.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Ottawa and furthered his expertise with a Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia. Following UBC, Dustin built an eight-year career in public accounting, earning his CPA designation in 2021.
Inspired by a deep curiosity for how things work—much like the intricate processes showcased on “How It’s Made”—Dustin is passionate about delving into the core mechanics of your business. He believes that truly understanding your operations is the only way to provide tailored, strategic accounting services that drive tangible value.
